Databricks Hackathon AND Networking Event at Queens College, Sept 18 to 20. Spend a weekend building with AI on Databricks, guided by the engineers who work on the platform itself. Over three days at Queens College, you'll form a small team, take on a live challenge, and leave with a finished project, a professional network, and a real Databricks credential. No experience required, just come curious!
What your ticket includes: Build with AI on Databricks with a team. The Academy Accreditation Corner - earn a real Databricks accreditation alongside others, and add it to your LinkedIn by Sunday night. The WAGMI-Connect networking corner - dedicated time with working tech professionals, so you leave with connections as well as a project. A professional headshot, included in your ticket. Plus a goodie bag, Databricks credits to build with (on top of the free edition), and prizes for the top teams.
The weekend: Friday, Sept 18 · 3:00 - 8:00 PM (check-in from 2:00 PM) - Pick up your badge and goodie bag, meet the room, and form a team of two or three. There will be a 1-hour 'Introduction to Databricks' session, Q&A and helping students sign up on Free Edition. The challenge is revealed at kickoff... and the build begins. Saturday, Sept 19 · 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM - A full day to build. Get unstuck by Databricks engineers (office hours 12-3 pm), make progress toward your accreditation, connect with professionals in the WAGMI-Connect networking corner, and book your headshot slot. 1st submissions due at 11:59 pm on Devpost. Sunday, Sept 20 · 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM - 2nd (and final) submission due at 10 am on Devpost. Presentations will start after 10 am. Headshot section opens after noon. Every team presents, and judges select the top ten to take the main stage for a 3 to 5 minute demo. Winners are chosen by the Databricks team.
Prizes: Winning teams take home a Lululemon Everywhere Backpack and an Owala FreeSip Thermal bottle.
Who it's for: Students and career-changers building with AI for the first time, and anyone already in tech who wants to sharpen their skills, meet the next wave of talent, and leave with a project and a credential worth showing.

2nd (and final) submission due at 10 am on Devpost. Presentations start after 10 am. Headshot section opens after noon. Every team presents; judges select the top ten for a 3-5 minute main-stage demo. Winners chosen by the Databricks team.
