about this event
Build Your Residence Hall: A 5-Day Base44 Hackathon — 7 Residence Halls. One Challenge. Endless Possibilities. What if you could solve a problem in your residence hall by building your own app or website? Join Morgan State University students for a five-day virtual hackathon where you'll identify real problems affecting residence hall or campus life and use AI to turn your ideas into digital solutions.
What Will You Build? Using Base44, you can create a functional web app or website by describing your idea in plain English. No coding experience is needed! Ideas include: a residence hall maintenance request tracker, a campus events and activities finder, a roommate chore organizer, a study group finder, or your own creative solution to a campus problem. Your goal is to build something useful, test it, improve it, and explain how it could make campus life better.
How It Works. Day 1 — Identify: Find a problem worth solving. Day 2 — Plan: Develop your idea and choose your app's features. Day 3 — Build: Use Base44 to create your app or website. Day 4 — Test: Improve your design and make sure your features work. Day 5 — Showcase: Present your solution during our virtual showcase.
Who Can Participate? Students from the seven participating residence halls. All majors and experience levels; beginners and experienced builders alike. No coding experience required!
Dates: November 2–6, 2026. Format: Virtual. Cost: Free to register; any paid platform upgrades are optional, subject to available Base44 credits and features.
