Join us as a volunteer at the Coastal Bend Community Code Jam to support families to learn coding and computing!
What will I do as a volunteer? All levels of expertise are welcome. You will arrive at 10 AM to receive orientation and training from your station leader. We provide lunch and a T-shirt. Certificates with professional development credit will be offered. Volunteers are needed to support many different activities at the event. We need lead volunteers and support volunteers at a variety of activities involving coding and computing. These activities are designed with beginners to advanced learners in mind. A selection of activities are offline, and hands-on and others involve block coding or robotics. We also need volunteers to support check in and T-shirt distribution.
What is a code jam? A Code Jam is a free event that allows all students and their grown-ups to explore coding and technology in an inclusive and interactive environment. The WeTeach_CS Family Engagement Initiative is designed to bring families and communities together to explore the exciting world of computer science. By introducing parents and students to hands-on activities, we aim to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create pathways for future learning in technology.
Good to know: 6 hours, under 18 with parent or legal guardian, in person, free parking, doors at 9:30 AM.
