about this event
FaithTech SoCal is bringing together technologists, creatives, and ministry leaders for a day of building, problem solving, and exploring what's possible when faith and technology meet. We'll form teams, tackle a challenge in community, and turn Spirit-led ideas into working prototypes by the end of the day.
Who is this For? Developers, designers, product managers, data/ML engineers, and marketers who want to build with purpose; builders curious about trustworthy and redemptive AI use cases for the Church; anyone in tech who wants to use their skills to make an impact in ministry and technology. Grab your spot and bring a friend.
Our Partner: Baptize The World. Baptize The World started right here in Southern California and has grown into a movement uniting churches worldwide around one goal: reaching people with the Gospel and baptizing them. As it scales from local churches to a global network, it needs better tools to onboard new churches quickly, wherever they are. "This was never about one event or one location. This was about the body of Christ coming together around the world and connecting people with the local church." — Pastor Mark Francey
That's what you'll be building for. Teams at this hackathon will design new tools to help Baptize The World reach further, think mobile-first solutions like agents that help international churches register in their own language, on a device they already use. Useful tools often don't get built in an hour. We're taking a full day to build alongside other believers in tech. Bring your skills, take on a challenge, walk away having created a working prototype that will bless the church and the Baptize the World Organization.
Event Schedule: 9:00 Doors + Registration + Breakfast; 9:30 Intro + Plan for the Day; 9:45 Discover: Team Formation & Prayerful Lament; 10:45 Discern: Brainstorm + Solution Mapping; 12:00 Lunch + Develop Overview; 12:30–4:30 Develop: Co-create solutions with the Holy Spirit (4:30pm is when development stops); 4:45 Demo Pitches; 5:15 Judges Meet; 5:30 Team Honors; 5:45–6:00 Clarify Next Steps; Pray and Commission.
Here's what we're hoping to walk away with: 3–5 prototypes designed for real-world piloting, and several pastors actively engaged in providing feedback.
