What to Expect This Weekend Function is a four-hour game jam. Brandon Jack opens by demonstrating his game-making flow. You then build, in a team of up to 3, with a collaborator, or solo, following that flow and scope. The last hour is judging across categories. Bring a laptop.
Schedule 12:00–4:00pm PT
12:00–1:00 — Demo: Brandon Jack demonstrates his game-making flow: how he takes an idea, scopes it, and builds it.
1:00–3:00 — Build: Follow that same flow and that scope, and make something. Form a team of up to 3, collaborate, or work solo. Agree on who does what before you start, so the pieces can come together in time.
3:00–4:00 — Judging: Projects are judged across categories.
Reminders: Please be courteous and respectful to others. Laptops are essential. You will be building. Feel free to ask our organizers for help on some code you're struggling with. We're happy to help where we can.
Commuting Suggested Car Parking: Street ($0), San Diego County Waterfront Garage ($20), Fashion Valley Mall ($5) — take the green line from Fashion Valley Transit Center to County Center/Little Italy Station, costs $2.50 each way. Suggested Bike Parking: Waterfront Park. Suggested Rails: Green and Blue Trolley Lines stop at County Center/Little Italy Station; Coaster stop at Santa Fe Depot.
