Build a working voice agent in one night. Guava Build Night comes to Cambridge. Doors at 5:30, kickoff at 6:00, code freeze at 8:30, awards at 10:15, hard stop at 11:00.
We ran the first one in San Francisco on August 29. Fifty-seven people came, and thirty-one working voice agents got built and demoed in about two hours. Five separate teams independently built a supervisory layer that listens to an agent in real time and stops it before it breaks a rule. Nobody asked them to.
WHAT YOU GET: Cash prizes across the top three, plus side prizes. Food, drinks and zero-proof options all night. Guava engineers at the office hours desk from start to finish. Free Guava minutes on your own account to keep building afterwards.
ONE RULE: To be eligible, your agent has to place or answer at least one real phone call. A demo that never rings does not count.
WHO SHOULD COME: Developers and students who want to ship something that talks. Healthcare, finance, insurance, collections, legal, and anywhere else a phone call has rules attached. Teams of one to four. You can form a team when you arrive.
WHAT TO BRING: A laptop and a charger, wired headphones if you have them, and your phone. Run the install before you leave home rather than at the door.
