A virtual hackathon for student builders, creative thinkers, and first-time hackers. This November, CodeStarters brings you IceHacks 2026 — an online hackathon where students come together to turn ideas into real projects. Whether you're building your first website, experimenting with AI, developing an app, or solving a problem you care about, IceHacks is your space to create something cool. No experience? No problem. Just bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to build.

What is IceHacks? IceHacks is a fully virtual hackathon hosted by CodeStarters, a student-led nonprofit making computer science and artificial intelligence education more accessible. Participants have a limited time to turn their ideas into working projects, explore new technologies, collaborate with other builders, and share what they've created. From your first line of code to your next big idea, there's a place for you at IceHacks.

What to expect: 🌐 Fully online — Build and participate from wherever you are. ❄️ Beginner-friendly — First hackathon? You're welcome here. 💡 Build your way — Create websites, apps, AI tools, games, and more. 🤝 Find your people — Collaborate, share ideas, and learn from fellow builders. 🏆 Show what you can do — Submit your project for judging and recognition.

How It Works. 01 — Register: Sign up through the official IceHacks Devpost page and get ready to build. 02 — Dream it up: Come with an idea, find teammates, or discover inspiration through the community. 03 — Build something cool: Use your creativity and technical skills to turn your idea into a working project during the hacking period. 04 — Submit your project: Share your finished project, demo, and documentation through Devpost before the submission deadline. 05 — Get recognized: Judges will evaluate eligible submissions using the official judging criteria. Share your work, celebrate what you've learned, and see what other hackers have built.

Event Schedule (all times are in Pacific Time, PT). Opening ceremony — Sunday, November 8, 6:00 PM PT. Hacking begins — Sunday, November 8, 7:00 PM PT, right after the opening ceremony. Submission deadline — Sunday, November 15, 6:00 PM PT. Judging period — Sunday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 17, 4:00 PM PT. Winners announced — Tuesday, November 17, 8:00 PM PT. Who Can Participate? IceHacks welcomes curious minds, aspiring developers, designers, and student innovators of different experience levels. Whether you're a beginner learning to code or an experienced builder ready to explore a new idea, you can use this opportunity to learn, experiment, and create.
