INSPIRE HACKATHON 6: RETRO REMIX — Build a game. Teach a skill. Inspire someone.

Date: October 28, 2026 Time: 5:00–9:00 p.m. Team Size: Five students/participants MAX Featured AI Tool: Devin credits provided

THE CHALLENGE Design and build a playable retro-style game that teaches someone a useful skill. Your game can teach a creative, physical, professional, technical, academic, or everyday skill. It should be fun to play, easy to understand, and designed for a clearly defined audience.

Possible directions include: Learn to sing through a rhythm challenge Practice drawing by completing visual missions Exercise through an interactive movement game Learn vocabulary through a retro adventure Recognize scams through a cybersecurity challenge Practice budgeting through a financial simulation Improve interviewing or public-speaking skills Learn a recipe through a timed cooking game

AI should be part of the building process, not simply added at the end. Teams may use Devin and other approved AI tools for planning, coding, design, content creation, testing, debugging, and improving the player experience.

FINAL DELIVERABLES Each team must present: A working, playable prototype The skill the game teaches The audience it was designed for How AI and Devin supported the development process A short live demonstration and pitch

JUDGING CRITERIA Learning Impact: Does the player learn or practice a meaningful skill? Fun and Creativity: Is the concept engaging and memorable? Playability: Does the prototype work and provide a clear experience? Use of AI: Did the team use AI thoughtfully throughout development? Design and Storytelling: Is the retro theme presented effectively? Team Pitch: Can the team clearly explain and demonstrate its solution?

Repo & Codebase has to be created on event date and not prior.
