about this event

One day. Encrypted data. Your AI coding agent and Niobium's tools handle the cryptography. Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) lets you compute on data while it stays encrypted, with no decryption at any point. It used to take a PhD to write. Now it takes a description.

You'll build with the Niobium AI skill and our FHE domain-specific language (DSL), a small programming language made for encrypted computation. Describe what you want, let your coding agent handle the FHE parts, and deploy to the Fog, the cloud that doesn't see your data. No cryptography background required. If you can vibe code, you can ship an encrypted app in an afternoon.

Practical Info: Schedule is 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Teams are 1-4 people (come solo and we'll match you if you want). You must be 18+ to participate. Exact venue details will be shared with selected participants. Applications are reviewed by the Niobium team on a rolling basis and selected participants receive confirmation one week before the event. Lunch and snacks are provided. Niobium engineers are on-site as mentors all day.

The Day: 10:00 AM - Doors, coffee, team-up / prep. 10:30 AM - Kickoff and live demo. 11:00 AM - Build. 4:00 PM - Submissions close. 4:30 PM - Demos. 5:30 PM - Winners announced, hang out.

What you could build: Encrypted search or matching (dating, hiring, health), confidential analytics dashboards, blind auctions, private voting, sealed-bid anything, or surprise us.

Before event day, come ready to build: AI skill at github.com/NiobiumInc/niobium-skills, FHE domain-specific language (DSL) + Niobium client at github.com/NiobiumInc/niobium-client, and set up a Niobium Fog account at https://console.niobium.co/request-account. Judges are to be announced.

Ground rules: You must be 18 or older to participate. Winners are chosen by Niobium judges based on what you build: a working demo, originality, and the quality of your ideas and edge cases. Build it during the event. Open-source libraries and public APIs are fair game; anything pre-built must be called out in your demo. You own everything you build here. Prize and attendance credits follow the Fog platform terms. They expire, and they have no cash value. Some casual photos will be taken during the day to share what got built; registering means you're OK appearing in them - tell an organizer if you'd rather stay out of frame.
