about this event

One Day to Build Personal Agents — Saturday, Oct. 24th. Application Required. Join us in San Francisco for a focused, in-person hackathon to build personal agents. We're bringing together up to 50 ambitious engineers, including the incoming Puentes fellows, to spend a day building personal agents that make life in San Francisco better. Expect live demos, prizes, food, coffee, and a room full of builders at First Round Capital's office. Capacity is limited; applications are required.

Who Should Apply: This is for you if you've shipped agents, tools, or you can show relevant repos and side projects. This hackathon is a way for you to meet other ambitious engineers in San Francisco.

What to Expect: Doors open at 9 am Saturday. Kickoff talks start at 9:30 with team formation taking place immediately after. We will have a focused 10-hour build sprint fueled by food and coffee. Building ends at 6:30pm, followed immediately by demos.

Theme: Personal Agents for San Francisco. San Francisco is where people come to build the future. It's also a city where plenty of everyday things could work better. AI can start handling more of those things. Not just answering questions, but actually handling things: the calls, the forms, the scheduling, the follow-ups. What would you want a personal agent to handle for you or someone else in San Francisco? Whether you arrived last week or have lived here for years, pay attention. What surprised you? What's harder than it should be? What works better somewhere else? What do you love about the city that more people should get to enjoy? Software is unlimited. Let's have fun with that and build something really useful.

Some places to start: Retail and local businesses — can an agent find something you need at a neighborhood shop, confirm it's available, and arrange pickup? What would a shop owner want an agent handling every day? Getting around — can an agent coordinate your commute, errands, and appointments and figure out a new plan when something changes? Hospitality — what could an agent take care of for a visitor, a host, or someone running a restaurant? Think reservations, requests, coordination, and all the back-and-forth. Moving here — can an agent help someone get settled, organize immigration paperwork, keep track of appointments, or navigate unfamiliar services? These are starting points. Bring something you've noticed yourself. We're excited about projects that work, that we can demo, and that someone would want to keep using after the hackathon.

Judges: Ali Haghani — Co-founder, Circleback; Ray Fitzgerald — Founder & CEO, Bloom; Nicolás Montone — Software Engineer, Vercel; Martin Asencio Diaz — Founding GTM, Flai; Juan Diego Etcheverry — Founding Engineer, Flai; Leonardo Ollero — Software Engineer, Delphi; Felipe Pontiggia — Software Engineer, Circleback; Andrés Viera — Software Engineer, Circleback; Arthur Guiot — Software Engineer, Circleback.

Prizes: Cash is king in this economy — First: $1,000 USD; Second: $500 USD; Third: $250 USD.

Rules & Submission Criteria: Projects will be submitted through DevPost's portal.

Hosts: Antigravity Capital, an early stage VC firm in San Francisco. We created Puentes to bridge the best talent in Latin America to Silicon Valley. Learn more: https://puentes.antigravity.capital. Sponsors: To be announced.
