about this event
What is UGAHacks CADathon?
UGAHacks CADathon is UGAHacks' annual 36-hour design competition centered around computer-aided design, engineering, and innovation. Our designers will collaborate on exciting projects, develop models using industry-standard CAD tools, and tackle complex design challenges while gaining hands-on experience with the tools and workflows used by professional engineers. Whether our designers are experienced CAD users or creating their first model, we encourage them to step out of their comfort zone, explore new ideas, and turn their concepts into something they can be proud of!
With the theme of racing, UGAHacks CADathon is a place where designers can build their portfolio, connect with the engineering community, and collaborate with students who share their passion for design and innovation. From workshops hosted by NSBE, ASME, and UGA Motorsports to guest speakers, mentors, and side events, there are plenty of opportunities to learn and connect throughout the weekend. No matter where our designers are starting from or their background, all are welcome to race into a world of possibilities!
A place for everyone
The UGAHacks organization prides itself on our beginner friendly environment. Our ultimate goal is showing others the wonders of building their first project and watching it come alive, or even inspiring them to take their first steps toward their greatness. Through the workshops we host before, during, and after the event, mini-events, and additional resources we provide CADers to enhance ideas and their projects, CADers are made to feel comfortable to thrive in this growing community.
