UnityNYC Summer Jam Hackathon 2026: A Weekend of Building Together

Join us for a weekend with UnityNYC as we run our first Summer Jam Hackathon at Urban Arts! For 30 hours, 35 developers, artists, designers and sound people share one space at Urban Arts and build Unity experiences from scratch! Free to attend. Every skill level is welcome, and if this is your first jam there is an award with your name on it. You must sign up to participate for this event. If you have team members that would like to attend, please specify in the form and have them sign up as well.
Here is how the weekend goes. Friday evening, we get on a Zoom call together, reveal the theme, walk through the rules and prizes, and start forming teams. Saturday at 11 the doors open and the clock starts. You have until 5:00 PM Sunday. We are not asking anyone to pull an all-nighter. The room closes Saturday at 9:00 PM and opens again Sunday at 9:30 AM. Go home, get some sleep, come back to a Sunday breakfast served. Mentors move around the room all weekend and will be available to assist with any Unity or general creative questions to help. Food and coffee are covered: Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and Sunday lunch. Put your allergies and dietary needs on the signup form and we will get it right.
What to Bring: A laptop with Unity installed, charger, headphones, mouse, tablet, whatever you normally work with. Photo ID for building check-in.
We are capping this at 35 people so the room stays workable, you must register using the signup form so we know your shirt size, dietary needs and experience level. We run a code of conduct and everyone attending agrees to it. Thank you to Unity, Urban Arts and all our volunteers for making this weekend possible. Come make something with us!
