Join Tribal leaders, students, environmental advocates, researchers, designers, and technologists for a day-long community mapping event focused on the Duwamish River, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship.

Participants will collaborate on beginner-friendly GIS, storytelling, and open-source projects exploring shoreline change, bird migration, light pollution, environmental advocacy, and watershed restoration across the Pacific Northwest.

No need to be an expert, we will teach you. Participants: Engineers, Designers, Storytellers, Green Teams, and Students—all welcome! Tools & tech: QGIS, Python, PostgresSQL, Vue. Perks: Swag, badges, real-world impact, and climate-tech networking.

Program Agenda: 5-5:15 PM: Networking and beverages; 5:15-5:25 PM: Intros by ProgramEarth and GitHub on the importance of open source and biodiversity centered sustainability; 5:25-5:40 PM: Guest speaker on local conservation efforts across Duwamish River; 5:40-6:00 PM: ProgramEarth demos hack repo: How to navigate the readme, project board, and project tasks; 6:00-7:15 PM: Form groups based on selected project tasks and begin hacking; 7:15-7:30 PM: Receive badges, swag, and take photos.
